The flu vaccination is the best protection against catching the flu and spreading the flu virus. It will also help prevent you from infecting other people in your family as well as helping to reduce pressure on the NHS during the winter season.

Free flu vaccinations are available for high-risk groups or if you fall in one of the following categories:

• Adults over the age of 65,
• Care Home workers,
• carers (in unpaid employment),
• primary care healthcare staff,
• pregnant women,
• certain medical conditions; asthma, diabetes, chronic heart disease, immunosuppression.

The flu vaccination season is from early October to March. The earlier you receive the vaccination the better. If you do not qualify for a free flu vaccination our pharmacies provide private flu vaccinations.
